Today I went to North Langley Community Church to be one of 7 amazing photographers helping out with this gigantic day designed to help local single parents. There were over 200 volunteers doing everything from washing cars, cutting kids hair, changing oil, and taking photos. We set up our own stations and took portraits for over 100 families. It was an amazing day!
Project Do Stuf 2013: Day Six-Street Interviews
Today I went to Vancouver with local actor/ voice over extraordinaire Michael Daingerfield to shoot some street interviews about rare disorders. We are currently working on a plot for a TV show and will be able to post our work hopefully in the next month or so!
Project Do Stuf 2013: Day Five-Editing Isadore's Short Film
Today I finished up the edit on the short film, and made a soundtrack out of a small recording I did with Isadore yesterday. Please share this with others!
Project Do Stuf 2013: Day Four
I spent the day shooting Isadore Charters, an incredible artist, at his reservation. It was an incredible experience to watch him carve his Reconciliation Healing Pole.
He speaks a little about the suffering he and other First Nations children went through at the Residential Schools that were set up for over 100 years to try to "Canadianize" the First Nations people. His story is so important to learn about, and I'm so thankful I got to spend a day with him.
There is currently a team working on a documentary on Isadore, and once it is finished I will be sure to post information on it.
Contact me to get ahold of Isadore, he is currently taking his Healing Pole to schools and churches to speak about who he is and what he has been through.

Project Do Stuf 2013: Day 3-Gibbons Kids Song
Today my wife and I recorded a song that she has been working on for the past year. I can't upload it because it's part of a video that we will be making on a separate day for Project Do Stuf, but... it's pretty sweet! Stay tuned, more to come!
Project Do Stuf 2013: Day 2-Mirror Dancers Video Edit
Today I did a rough edit of the dance. There's some tightening to be done, and some colour correction, but this gets it all started. Shot on the Canon C100, my latest weapon of choice for shooting, I love it!
Project Do Stuf 2013: Day 1-Mirror Dancers in the park
Today I filmed the Mirror Dance group again! We went out into Langley and captured a bunch of different angles for editing between just like last year. It went really well, the girls are such incredible dancers. Their big recital is this Friday, so head over to the Chandos Pattison to catch the show!
Project Do Stuf 2013: Part Two? Project Deux Stuf?
It's back! I'm devoting most of the next 2 months to creative personal/ semi-personal projects. I did it last year, and came up with 20 days of exciting projects!
My own self-inflicted rules are: anything related to photography/ videography/ music or sound. I plan on getting people out to the studio, meeting up with veterans, volunteering at a free photo shoot for families that need help, filming bands, filming my kids or my dad... whatever!
So stay tuned, I'll be sure to post things as they happen!
Here's a song from last year:
And here's a video from last year:
Two or Three Video
The boys and girl from local band Two or Three came over to film a video for their new album. Here's a live tracked version of their amazing song "Critic". Justin Carlson came over to lend a hand. Their music is incredible, it was a sublime experience.
TWU Choir at the Chan
I had a great time shooting the TWU choir led by Dr. Caron Daly, here's one of my fave shots.

Emma
Had two shoot with the TWU theatre crew again (I love these people!) First was the promo shoot, then a few weeks later was the archive shoot. Amazing play and amazing students!
